Testimonial....Chris aged 30 from London

“Since 2005 I have been using blue tinted Cerium lenses prescribed by Dr Barnard over which time I have found them to be an absolute game changer in increasing my ability to focus on written text. The glasses dramatically reduce the glare I experience when reading which allows me to read and write effectively over long periods and the positive benefits are instantaneous. As a parent I would thoroughly recommend that parents whose children suffer from dyslexia look into whether this solution would be suitable for their children.”

Some children who are underachieving at school can be assisted with tinted lenses. In order to find out whether an individual child might be helped, an initial test using Intuitive coloured overlays may carried out. If a specific colour appears to help your child in the consulting room then an overlay may be dispensed. This is then used by your child during reading, usually for a minimum of four weeks, to determine whether there really does appear to be a benefit in using colour. This is called a prognostic trial.

If the coloured overlay has helped then an appointment needs to be made at the practice for Intuitive Colorimetry, a test that enables the optometrist to prescribe a very specific Cerium Precision tint.
Dr Barnard was the first optometrist in the UK to use the Intuitive Colorimeter in optometry practice and you can read about this in an interview that appeared in January 2014 Optometry Today.
You may read some examples of how Cerium tinted lenses have helped by looking at the testimonials section of the Barnard Levit website.
