Deanna joined Barnard Levit in 2016, and now runs a Sunday clinic for both private and NHS patients.She gained her BSc (Hons) in Optometry from Aston University in 2011, where she was awarded the school’s Applied Vision prize for Vision Science and Research Methods and the Association of Optometrists’ prize for Professional, Occupational and Low Vision. Her dissertation was a practical ‘mystery shopper’ study looking into the management of ocular allergy by UK pharmacists. She worked full time as a mobile optometrist until undertaking her PhD, entitled ‘Everyday visual function and the visual experience in dry age-related macular degeneration’ at City, University of London, which she successfully completed in 2018. She now splits her time between working as an optometrist at Barnard Levit and as a post-doctoral research fellow at City, University of London.
