SEIKO was founded in 1881.  Originally watchmakers, their expertise has expanded over the years and they now boast a portolio of products and services ranging from watches to camera shutters, electronic devices to eyeglasses and jewellery as well as some sports products.

SEIKO produced the first inner surface progressive spectacle lens in 1997 and have since gone onto produce an exciting portfolio of innovative lenses.  They have created an extensive range to suit all types of activities, from sports and lesiure through to a working and computer-based environment.  They have become a universal force within the industry due to their revolutionary and technologically advanced designs and materials, constantly pushing the realms of possibility.  Their unique vision has ensured that they deliver high quality, comfort and style to all their wearers.

What sets SEIKO's lenses apart from their competitors is that they can be (depending on preference), up to 50% slimmer and 45% more delicate and lighter than ordinary plastic lenses.  SEIKO lenses are meticulously created with their team of experts able to manipulate the amount that the lens can bend light, also known as 'index.'  Higher indexes means thinner and lighter lenses.

SEIKO also specialise in progressive lenses.  These are lenses which enable the wearer to focus at all distances.  These types of lenses are increasingly popular with people aged 40 and above as this is the time when your eyesight may require extra help in order to focus on near objects as well as ones further away.

All SEIKO lenses are made using materials which come under the wide term 'plastic.'  Compared to glass lenses, plastic is a much lighter and more durable material.  Meanwhile, most of their lenses have a scratch-resistant layer, water-resistanct surface and an anti-reflection coating.

Every set of lenses comes with a certificate of authenticity meaning they have been produced following the SEIKO Optical standards.  This is a sign of excellence and quality.

SEIKO's extensive skills and expertise in producing clearer lenses, championing the titanium frame material and their innovative progressive lens design technology has ensured that they have remained a pioneering force within the industry.
